3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Poured deep brown with a short, well-retained tan head. The aroma picked up burnt, fairly generic black malts accented by a touch of rye and some vanilla.. a little bit smoky too.. simple, roasty, and pleasant. The flavor found burnt black malts, a kiss of bakerís chocolate, and light smoked malt at the core, with ashy roast and fresh, complementary hoppy accents.. finished sweet and lightly smoky.. tasty. Lighter-bodied with a lot of dry roast on the palate.. sweet too.. good balance.. very drinkable.

Pours cola black with a tan head. Actually, this has a pretty decent aroma coming from it. Nice cocoa notes, some roast and those oh-so-coveted cigarette butts. Nice. Taste is plenty ashy, cig butts, some roast. I dig this beer for having some authentic bar ambience. Pretty dry finish. Thin mouthfeel. Not saying its great, but hot damn, I do love me some cigarette butt taste.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilburís Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a big, foamy, dark brown head. Quite nutty, chewy toasty malty, chocolate, mild anise, cola aroma. A bit thin. Somewhat metallic, dark chocolate, nutty, milk, moderately roasty flavor. I really thought I was going to enjoy this until BAM the metallic note hit. Too bad.

Half-pint on tap. Pretty much black color. Thin khaki / light brown head. Decent lace. Medium body. Smooth, creamy, chewier texture. Lighter carbonation. Good lightly roasty, chocolatey, light coffee stouty flavor. Light bitter taste. Less sweet, Macro bite and body is minimal, here. Solid Irish stout, really. Better than expected. Just a bit of macro-metallic in the nose, thatís it.

Bottle. Coffee, chocolate, and a fain black licorice aroma. Black brown with a large tan head. Light roast coffee, strong black licorice, and light ashy flavor. I donít like licorice, so I canít be objective about this one. LIght body, soft carbonation.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Undrinkable fake stout with a terrible bitter aftertaste. Didnít expect it to be good but was amazed how much it tasted like a miller with food coloring. Stay away.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown pour with an average tan head. Moderate bitter roast aroma which also translates to the flavor. Dry texture with average carbonation. Thinner and less complex than your better stouts but still decent.

Looks good a nearly opaque pour with a soapy frothy tall tan head. Well roasted malt aroma hints of walnut a touch of that cheap funky grain that reminds me this is a miller product. Palate is avg. Thinner than a Guinness but not the watery mess I had expected. Easy drinking mostly toasty lightly nutty flavors a tiny bit of chocolate and a little coffee bitterness in the finish. Iíd drink it again!

Got a 6 pack at HEb for $7. Well worth it, you can taste the chocolate and coffee flavors, but it tastes a bit watered down. Overall pretty decent though.

Bottle. Pours a near-black color with a moderate frothy tan head. Nose is a little bitter and quite dry. Taste has a little roasting in there, but the dry bitterness prevails. Meh.
