For the price, its pretty fair. Pour was impressive, nice head; basic cola color, decent aroma. Reminded me of a poor manís Guinness.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with minimal head. Lightly ashy sweet dark chocolate malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Light but not bad.

Bottle pour. This was a fairly good stout from a source that I usually donít expect that much.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle. BBD JUL1513. Pours a medium, well retained beige head, with hints of lacing, over a clear, brown, black (SRM 35) body.....nose is coffee, chocolate, tobacco.....taste is coffee, lighter chocolate, tobacco hints, slight sourness, finishing with a light lingering hop tobacco bitterness....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation adds light tingle. This falls well within the broad category of Stout, and is quite typical of the BJCP category of Dry Stout. The aromas and flavors are really spot on, which is a surprise given the relatively low score. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft to taster (from weekend notes). Looks good for the style; cola with foamy beige head. Smells sweet and malty with a touch of roast. Tastes like it smells, but blander. Average on the palate. Eh.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 ounce bottle. Pours black with a red hue and a thin tan head that lasts. Taste is of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate and coffee. Similar aroma. Has a decent body with some dryness in the finish. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable. For the price, it is a pretty good beer.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(bottle - 12 oz) Dark brown pour with ruby highlights and a fizzy tan head. Aroma is mild roasted malts and not much else. Flavor is bitter malts and some watery coffee. A bit mild all throughout. Not bad but I wouldnít go out of my way to find it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Poured deep brown with a short, well-retained tan head. The aroma picked up burnt, fairly generic black malts accented by a touch of rye and some vanilla.. a little bit smoky too.. simple, roasty, and pleasant. The flavor found burnt black malts, a kiss of bakerís chocolate, and light smoked malt at the core, with ashy roast and fresh, complementary hoppy accents.. finished sweet and lightly smoky.. tasty. Lighter-bodied with a lot of dry roast on the palate.. sweet too.. good balance.. very drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours cola black with a tan head. Actually, this has a pretty decent aroma coming from it. Nice cocoa notes, some roast and those oh-so-coveted cigarette butts. Nice. Taste is plenty ashy, cig butts, some roast. I dig this beer for having some authentic bar ambience. Pretty dry finish. Thin mouthfeel. Not saying its great, but hot damn, I do love me some cigarette butt taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home picked up at Wilburís Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a big, foamy, dark brown head. Quite nutty, chewy toasty malty, chocolate, mild anise, cola aroma. A bit thin. Somewhat metallic, dark chocolate, nutty, milk, moderately roasty flavor. I really thought I was going to enjoy this until BAM the metallic note hit. Too bad.
