Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma of smooth burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is smooth burnt malt with some possible coffee hints. Not getting chocolate. It is certainly dry, but not all that bitter. Fairly tasty critter. Finally getting a little chocolate.

12 ounce bottle from Kroger - Hydraulic - Charlottesville. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a large foamy brown head. Good head retention. You gotta love a wave of skunk upon opening a brown bottle. Aroma of skunk, caramel, grain, mild chocolate. The taste is chocolate, grain, hoppy finish. Thin bodied.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilburís Fort Collins. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a big, foamy, dark brown head. Quite nutty, chewy toasty malty, chocolate, mild anise, cola aroma. A bit thin. Somewhat metallic, dark chocolate, nutty, milk, moderately roasty flavor. I really thought I was going to enjoy this until BAM the metallic note hit. Too bad.

12oz bottle. Drank from the bottle - brown with an off white head. Roast, some earth, toasty, and caramel. Sure beats the Miller that was available at the party ...

Not as bad as I was expecting, very much like a shitter but more robust guinness.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with minimal head. Lightly ashy sweet dark chocolate malt and lightly bitter herbal hops flavor. Light but not bad.

Half-pint on tap. Pretty much black color. Thin khaki / light brown head. Decent lace. Medium body. Smooth, creamy, chewier texture. Lighter carbonation. Good lightly roasty, chocolatey, light coffee stouty flavor. Light bitter taste. Less sweet, Macro bite and body is minimal, here. Solid Irish stout, really. Better than expected. Just a bit of macro-metallic in the nose, thatís it.

Bottle from Caponeís. Pours hazy mahogany, looking blackish ruby through indirect light. Head is futile and off-white and unlaced. Nose is Wheaties topped with melted caramel and flaked with Ovaltine and cacao. Tastes roasty malty, with notes of cacao, dark malt, lactose, and a creamy finish. This one tastes pretty good. I used to love Yuengling Porter by the pitcher at 6 bucks a pitcher at Zenoís at PSU Main Campus. This beer is better than that one (and yes, Iíll be side-by-siding this one with Yuengling Porter).
