@ Market Porter. A dark mild with a thin head. Lightly toffeeish, with an earthy, mushroomy nose. Fresh toffee and light chocolate.

Cask (handpump) at the Market Porter, Southwark, on 17 August 2010. Red/ruby colour. Very fruity on the nose and palate. A good, fruity ruby mild. Almost tastes like a fruit beer. Lots of berries. Did I say it was fruity? If you want a dark, roasty mild look elsewhere ( I wonder whether they have changed the recipe since imdownthepub rated it), but I enjoyed it a lot.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Black with creamy head. Light and thinnish with faint roasted barley notes, then a good nutty, fruity flavour that carries the beer. Sweet cereals then come in to dominate through to the finish. Reasonable.
