Schooner at College Inn after mis-timing my bus transfer. Oh well, carpe diem (noctum? Wish I knew Latin). Clear cola color, some head, irregular lacing. Some sweetness, but much more on the nutty, roasty side of the spectrum. Robust, with medium body and slick texture. Solid brew.

I must be losing my taste for Porters. I’ve had so many over the years, and so few that really surprise me anymore. This one, like usual these days, is just good enough to keep Porter as one of my very favorite styles, while making this beer nothing close to one of my very favorite beers.

Draught. Pours a near-black color with a moderate light tan head on there. Nose is roasty with a fair amount of chocolate coming off it. Taste is also quite roasty with just a little bit of sweetness coming off it, and some chocolate coming throughout. Nice drink.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Roasted, chocolate, slight coffee nose. Big coffee roasted malt flavor in the initial sip which leads to a sweet almost lactose like sweetness in the middle. Finish is rounded and bitter. Sweetness is slightly cloying and lingers in the afterbreath. Sessionable, mostly sweet, roasted porter which I wouldn’t reach for again.
