3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at the brewery. I suppose it is the English ale years that pushes this beer into the ESB category. Either way, it is delicious. A spicy red ale that is easy to drink, considering it’s decent alcohol content. I enjoyed it - but wouldn’t have placed it in the ESB category on my own.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Fiddlers.
Really nice rich red-brown pour, lovely grapefruit hop aroma with plenty of caramel wrapped around the citrus. Quite a bit stronger than your usual red ale, this one is definitely a PacNW red, pushing IPA territory rather than coming anywhere near British ESB authenticity. And that turns out to be largely a good thing; the beer is lovely and dry, not overwhelmingly bitter but certainly would not be boring even to a diehard hophead. A pleasant surprise.
