3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 OldMrCrow (1419) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 4, 2010
Tap at Fiddlers.
Really nice rich red-brown pour, lovely grapefruit hop aroma with plenty of caramel wrapped around the citrus. Quite a bit stronger than your usual red ale, this one is definitely a PacNW red, pushing IPA territory rather than coming anywhere near British ESB authenticity. And that turns out to be largely a good thing; the beer is lovely and dry, not overwhelmingly bitter but certainly would not be boring even to a diehard hophead. A pleasant surprise.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gracefullypunk (667) - Oregon, USA - JAN 31, 2010
On tap at Georgetown Brewing. Pours red-orange with foamy beige head. Citrus and pine in the aroma. Initial sharp hop taste fades quickly, leaving a faint earthy and malty taste. Creamy palate.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - OCT 8, 2009
Tap @ Crusty’s: Dark ruby ebony color, light head and nice lacing. Nose of light fruity hops and caramel malt. Flavor is balanced, spicy malt and lighter hops, a tangy finish and moderate body. Kinda in the middle bland.

Tap @ Kahootz: Amber color with a white ring head. It has sweet malty aromas full of nuts and toffee perhaps. The flavor is equally malty with some cardboard thrown in. It has a thin finish as well as a slightly bitter aftertaste. To me, it’s a pretty good example of an ESB.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 ditmier (1509) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 10, 2009
Tap @ BBF - Pours a ruddy orangewith a small off white head...aroma is toast and floral hops, with some sweet malt, light cereal graniness...flavour is similar, and this was billed as a pale red, which I definitley think is more applicable than an ESB...great caramel malt backbone to a nicely hopped up dry pale ale...very good stuff...
