Had on tap at local restaurant. Nice flavor, good looking pour. Was going to get a different beer as my second, followed up with a second of the same.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Bishopís Ale House. (Which should probably be renamed to Bishopís Lager House due to the profusion of macro lagers here.) Pours a hazy amber, with a scant but lacy white head that paints concentric circles inside my pint. Mildly piney nose. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Just a hint of initial sweetness in the taste along with some grass and nutty tones, leading to a crisp pine finish. Sessionable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mannyís Pale Ale is available at a lot of the pubs and restaurants in the Seattle area. I find myself ordering it on a fairly regular basis. It has a fairly aggressive hop presence for a pale ale, but that is a good thing, in my opinion. Overall, it is a very pleasant beer, that is well balanced but still flavorful. Definitely recommended.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2009 They were out of my standard brew at the italian place we were at last night so I gave this one a second go-round. Glad I did. Very impressive drink from top to bottom. Cloudy golden body with a nice, big soft white head. Big biscuit malt backbone that was grainy and provided a great dry flavor. Very mellow hop proflie that was floral and aromatic without being aggressive. Really a fantastic example of the style . Old rating: 3.4 - Slowly becoming my favorite local drink.

Typical but atleast its unfiltered. Needs more hops. Tried it on tap at work, I can appreciate this beerís balance but not a favorite.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2010 on draft. amber beer that glows with orange when you hold it to the light. A very drinkable beer with consistent hop presence throughout and good malt balance. hopping is noteworthy for balance between boiling and finishing. Update 2/2009: on tap at Downriggers restaurant in Port Angeles. Pours a light amber to dark gold with a thick white head. I detect an odd garlic aroma. The flavor and body are really light. There does not seem to be very much hops at all in this beer. Seems quite boring. Iím re-rating this down from 3.4.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Desert Fire in Redmond. Pours a medium amber with coppery overtones, decent sudsy white head that falls away. Mild, almost neutral nose. Medium body, light carb. Not a lot going on here until it warms up a little (curse Desert Fire and their frosted glasses). Then thereís some woodiness to the hop that has some appeal, lets you know itís there. This is a perfectly well made beer, but the recipe just does not want to stand up and asset itself at all. A nice flagship for people new to real beer, and totally sessionable on those days when youíre not feeling picky.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich hazy orange draft with a good head. Hoppy nose. Taste of sweet malts, lightly hopped. After 3 days in Seattle I now expect to find Cascade hops in my eggs and in my coffee. This was not bad, but not extraordinary, and, yeah, it was lightly hopped with pine and citrus and a bitter finish.
