A careful selection of Northwest hops, premium barley, and our unique yeast give this ale a rich and complex malty middle with a snappy hop finish. Crisp, clean and smooth with hints of citrus and fruit.

On tap at Ivar’s, Pier 54, Seattle

Had first day in Seattle with my girlfriend, her father, and her sister while waiting for the Bainbridge Island ferry. Pours lush amber with a nice head. Aroma is very hoppy for an APA, with nice streams of flora and grapfruit. Very close to an IPA, with a definite grapefruit presence accentuated by the hops but nicely rounded out by a malty sweetness. Velvety palate. Great beer; beautiful view from my seat.

Agreed that this is rather a mediocre pale ale. Very grassy, with little of the hops character--either citrus or piney-spruce--that one might expect. Rather a disappointment.

On draft at space needle: smooth, bitter burst of flavor followed by subtle woody undertones. Very unique taste.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Mediocre pale ale. Mild and forgettable. Golden, light grassy hops, caramel malts. Tried with Win, Josh, and Al in Seattle, 2016.

Draft at Smarty Pants underneath the Boeing airport approach. Cloudy bronze color with a thin khaki head and bubbly carbonation. The aroma is nicely balanced sweet malt and wet, earthy hops. Pleasant flavor that is heavy citrus with some light bitterness in the finish. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Mostly tangy mash malt here. Pours hazy golden with ok head. Light citrus. Not a huge amount to this. Tangy finish. Tap at Seattle Taproom in SEATAC.

Not bad, not great. Just a blue collar pale ale done well. Slightly citrus hops, bready yeast, and light malt body.

Draught at Zero Zero, San Francisco. Cloudy amber colour, slim offwhite head. Tropical fruity (!) hops with mango, some pineapple, sweet malty base. Nicely balanced bitterness in the finish. Good body, low carbonation, oily mouthfeel.

Draught at Ernest Loves Agnes, 11/2/15.
The best appearance, by far, of the three I had that night (Seahops, Kulshan, this). Obviously unfiltered, yet bright, with a copper-golden body and a very well-retained white head.
This seemed to have been a very popular beer around town and for good reason. It’s assertively hoppy, yet not obnoxiously bitter. The malt balanced nicely with plentiful toasted grain/sourdough as well as honey and light caramel. Nothing fancy on the hops, just a pretty straightforward citrus character with light pine accents. Very light hint of tropical fruit in the nose. Towards the end of the glass, the malt wore on me a bit too much, adding too much toasted character, which exacerbated the hop acidity, somewhat unbalancing the beer flavorwise. The mouthfeel was spectacular, however, with tight, appropriate carbonation and a malty, supple texture.
