Tried this when I was already shithoused. At the time it seemed rather unremarkable, but so would anything. Will have to try again.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy orange brown body, no head, no lacing, no transparency. The smell had a strong grassiness up front, lightly hopped. The taste was mainly bitter as the hops take over, grassy bitter aftertaste, sticky finish. On the palate, it sat about at a light to medium, fairly sessionable, carbonation is spot on for the style and for me. Overall, good APA Iíd have it again.

Draught at Seattle Tap Room (Sea-Tac Airport)
Cloudy light amber color with creamy head. Good aroma of hops, delicate fruitiness. Dry mouthfeel; the malts have a well defined bready character; strong bitterness; but I sense some vegetables in the end.
Fair beer.

Growler from Growl Movement - South Salem. A very light pale ale with some pine and caramel. Smooth drinking. Overall very bland.

Growler from Bobís Liquors (on special for $6.40 -- yeah!). Tried to share this at a party last night, but I guess people just wanted to drink the other bottles hanging out in my fridge, which is cool because it means Iíll have 3 more pints for bowl games tomorrow. Appearance: pours clear orange with a thin layer of foamy bubbles over the surface, decent lacing. Aroma: bread dough, toast, biscuit, citrus, honey. Taste: moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish, with biscuit and honey remaining behind quietly in the aftertaste. Also some apple. Palate: medium body, crisp, average carbonation. Overall: Iíve hesitated to rate this one for awhile. Itís one I could have saved for whenever I eventually leave Seattle, because itís been a mainstay at the College Inn, the first bar I really frequented (actually, the first bar I ever drank at) and still my favorite U-District drinking establishment. For so many of my non-beer friends, this is their go-to beer. Either this or Mac and Jackís, with a few who favor the Boundary Bay (IPA, though you never have to say IPA -- just say Boundary Bay and the IPA is implied). To me, Mannys basically IS the house beer at the College Inn. Thereís always a pint on the table, no matter whose around. Hard to capture that in an (attempted, despite the futility of it) objective beer review. Anyway, this is Mannys. If youíre in Seattle, have a pint. You wonít have a hard time finding it. Pairs well with good friends and a plate of nachos in the basement of the College Inn.

maxwelldeux (3069) - Everett, Washington, USA - DEC 4, 2013
Draught. Pours a clear amber color with a moderate off-white head. Nose is a little hoppy, but like the hops are old. Taste is a little bitter, too, but like things have turned. Not a great beer, but drinkable.

Deep orange. Aroma is floral and slightly pungent. Orange peel up front. Spicy flavor and highly tingly carbonation. Medium body with citrus hop finish. I have heard a lot of praise for this brew and it is overall pretty decent!

On tap. Pours a cloudy orange with a thick white head. Aroma of light fruits, apple, pale bready malts. Flavor of bready malt, caramel, perfume, light fruits. A solid light pale ale, not too hoppy at all, lots of fruits/malt. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Draught. This is an old school APA which is not too exciting but not too bad either.

At a restaurant on Orcas Island in the town of Eastsound. The pint came a hazy light gold with a white head. Nose of tropical fruit. Medium in body. Smooth mouth feel. Flavor is mango-like and citrus. Not sure where the fruit comes from but it is great. This is a tasty beer. Easy drinking.
