Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark red with a small head and the aroma of malts and sugar. The taste is full sugared, with a sour note in the end and it’s not really full-bodied like a real dubbel should be. Just a nice beer, but nothing out of the ordinary

Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Clear dark ruby color. Malty, caramelly, berry-like aroma. Toffeish flavor with prunes, some berries and candy sugar. Sweetish aftertaste. Plain abbey dubbel.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2011 Dark brown body, small beige head. Aroma of coffe, toffee. The flavour is worse than i expected...So, terrible... Medicine with some coffe. If i taste some chemical coffeine, it would be like this taste...Dry and roasted but bad aftertaste. Have i some cold shivers by this stuff? What the f..k is this? I have tasted it again on tap at De Wildeman, Amsterdam. It was better than before, clean taste of an easy dubbel, but not a memorable one.

Draught : Eettuin Cafe, Amsterdam. Brown. Thin with sweet brambly fruits and some toffee. Not great. Flavours slightly muted from being served cold.

Aroma is quite unpleasant. It’s musty with a medicinal alcohol scent. Flavour is a little sour on the tongue which is both unexpected and unwanted from a double like this. I miss the warmth of malt. Too much sour fruitiness.

Beautiful red mahogany and a golden, creamy head. The aroma has notes of malt and a light sourness. The flavour has slightly sour fruity notes, roasted malt, candy sugar/caramel and a nice bitterness and a light sweetness. IMO it should have more body, but the finish is nice and long and towards the end I find notes of licorice. 1840

Bottle. Red wine, very sweet, spicy. Later on the malt shines through. No head, dark red clear body. Light sweet start, finish is moderate bitter, average duration. Light to medium body, light watery and oily texture, lively carbonation. Good Dubbel, the alcohol shines not really through, the aroma is something really special.
