3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MmmcKay (891) - Brentwood, Tennessee, USA - DEC 1, 2010
10 oz mug from Gerst Haus. This stuff ain’t bad at all. Get it in a fishbowl unless you want their icy mugs. They literally will freeze the beer. Decent body but incredibly smooth. Light and tasty. I can drink many of these no problem.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rustyham (1396) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 30, 2010
Light, refreshing, very drinkable, and decently malty. It tastes incredibly clean and flavorful. I would have guessed this to be a Mild or Bitter. The style is so balanced and sessionable you would have guessed it to be English. On tap at Melrose Billiards, Nashville, TN
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kswick (3) - Evansville, Indiana, USA - MAR 9, 2009 does not count
I drink this at Gerst-Bavarian Haus, Sportsmans and Smitty’s in Evansville, IN. All three are on Franklin St.
The beer itself is not extremely flavorful, not bland by the least. Light tan head, amber pour, very smooth.
Friday Lunch specials with the great Catfish basket and a 22oz fishbowl of Gerst Amber Ale for less than $10 is always a plus!

Gerst is actually a lager. I work at the Sportsmans in Cool Springs and the owners own the rights to Gerst but its contract brewed by Pitt. Brewing Com. I think the ABV is around 5.3 not a whole lot of flavor but very drinkable.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Suttree (3926) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 29, 2004
Amber, decent sized white head. Mildly caramel aroma. Decent malt profile, clean and thinly bodied. Smooth, and very little hop flavor. Surprisingly not bad.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - FEB 4, 2004
When in Nashvegas, check out the Gerst Haus, the decendant of the Original Gerst Brewing Company employee cafeteria. This place is chocked full of great beeraphernalia. We used to buy kegs of Gerst for our parties. A fine amber ale. Very nice balance for those who are not used to a beer with color or flavor. I've nothing but fond memories of this one.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 bluemeow76 (693) - Lewis Center, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2003
Pours a medium amber with a ivory/beige head. Aroma and flavor are mostly of malt and caramel. Not a terrible beer, but below average in the amber category.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 27, 2003
On tap at the Sportsman's Grille in Nashville. Pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head. Light malt aroma. Medium bodied with a kind of bland malt flavor, along with a little caramel. Finish is short and sweet. Not too great but a nice find.
