Cask conditioned at Fleetwood Beer Fest 2010. Brown to copper with slight head. Too similar to the traditional to be a coincidence, sweet, flabby, malty, dull. Again disappointing.

Tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival in October 2011. Cask, gravity dispense. Clear dark copper in colour with a thin open white head. Sweet fruity malt in the aroma with a hint of figs. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a moist maltloaf flavour with syrupy dates and molasses in the mix. Slight hint of hop resins in the all too brief bitter aftertaste. Finish is quite robust with fiery malt evident, along with sweet maple syrup notes. An excellent session bitter with body and complexity - reminded me of a weak Traquair Bear Ale.
