Bottle @ Delirium, Brussels.
Pours hazy amber with a small, frothy off-white head. Aroma has caramel, sweetness, mild red berries and apple. Highish carbonation, very dry and light creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has soft oxidation notes, light metal, caramel, light sugary before a fairly harsh dryness and bitterness sets in. Not that terribly balanced.

Bouteille 33 cl.

bottle from the brewery store - Pours light amber and has an earthy, citrus accented hop aroma. It tastes of some malt sweetness up front that’s quickly overtaken by ample hops bitterness. It’s medium bodied, finely carbonated, and has a lingering bitter finish. The balance is good and overall it’s a solid brew.

Amber beer with disparate hed, leaving lace all the same. Fresh hops (EU) nose, really nice, garden herbs, nettles(cheese). Fresh greenery taste, nice hoppy taste - noble, but not C-hops. Medium bodied, alcohol burning. Nice one from Bouillon: usually very unexciting beers, this one is an exception. It is not yet an Orval, but one can’t have everything.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe,Brussels. Deep amber colour with a medium head. Caramel and citrus aroma, almost like an English bitter. Gertrude must be one bitter lady- her flavours are bitter indeed, leaving the mouth very dry. Hints of fruit, though. A good, if somewhat extreme Belgian beer.
