kmeves (917), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA Oct 1, 2007 Pour is golden and full of carbonation, smallish head. Aroma is grainy, a bit citric and bicuity. Flavor is mildly bitter (I’m guessing Saaz) which is balanced nicely with some bready malt. Palate is very clean, very drinkable lager. Kind of reminded me of Heilemens Old Style before the buyout. This is really good for the kind of beer this is. Very grainy, some corn and lots of barley (even though there is no corn in it). Interesting color, sort of a medium gold and a substantial white head. Well carbonated. The aroma and flavor also have considerable malt and hops. Salty. Full palate. A pale lager can’t get much better without turning in to a pilsner. OSLO (515), Minnesota, USA Sep 10, 2007 [Growler, big thanks go to Skyview for somehow managing to acquire this beer!] Pours golden with a nice lingering white head. Aroma is grainy. Taste is very malty with some hops towards the end. Long finish with a taste that I can’t quite pinpoint but that is very pleasant--excellent. Good mouthfeel. Very smooth. I’m not usually a big lager fan, but this was a well done beer that, despite a few weaknesses, was extremely drinkable. BDR (1816), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Sep 10, 2007 Many thanks to Skyview for procuring a bottle of this gem for us. Gold colored body with a lightly citrus hopped biscuit nose. Similar taste, but very smooth. Couldn’t help but recall the Das Bierhaus pils - which is a very good comparison. A solid beer. joebrew (603), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 10, 2007 Thanks a ton to Skyview for procuring some of this. Pours a medium golden yellow color. Nice lemony, biscuity orangy, and an almost cornlike nose. Full bodied with a good dose of citrus and floral hops. There is a slight astringency, but very slight and it could have to do with the floral hops on the finish. A very nice lager.
