2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ungstrup (23975) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 4, 2007
Draft at the brewpub, July 2006. The brewpub came into new ownership early 2006, so this is the same recipe but a different brewer from the five first ratings.
A hazy amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also a light note of butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, and butterscotch as well as light notes of wood, leading to a dry and slighlty bitter end. Listed at 5.4% ABV.

One of the worst beers I’ve ever had. Thought I was driking vinegar- don’t waste your money. The restaurant in Gettyburg, PA has a nice atmosphere with good food but just skip the brew and order a Diet Pepsi.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 axilla (962) - New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2005
You know...the food here was really good. Unfortunately for Gettysbrew, I’m not rating their food tonight. Way more of a sour than a bitter.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 Parrothead (278) - Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2004
Had a nice amber appearance, but that’s the good news. Thin, cidery, sour aftertaste. The server mentioned the use of hop oils [or was that on the menu?]which may account for the weird finish. I know bad beer - because as a homebrewer, I’ve made plenty - and this reminded me of some of my bad extract batches.

I honestly couldn't tell this beer apart from at least two others from my sampler, no distingushable qualities at all, amber color, decent bubbly white head but it disappeared after a few minutes, once again flat flavors & body, very sour in the finish, undercarbonated
