3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Maria (8585) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 16, 2011
From tap at their “Keller” outside the village. It’s unclear, warm golden with a huge, white, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of slightly sour yeast, light barnyard and fruit. The flavour is sweet and rather sour with notes of yeast, barnyard, wheat and light fruit – a bit too sour/barnyard for my liking.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 pivnizub (7239) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 10, 2008
Bottle. Orangey-golden, visible carbonation, a bit unclear, smaller to medium-sized fluffy head, thet slowly diminishes. Bananas and wheat in the slightly phenolic nose. Light to medium bodied, moderate sourish-sweetish flavour, relatively smooth. Fruity, slightly sourish and a bit wheaty finish, accompanied by a delicate tartness. A bit flat, but all in all a decent Weizen........
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - OCT 19, 2008
(bottle) Cloudy, orange colour with a bubbling foamy white head. Sweet and yeasty fruity aroma of banana with a moderate wheat-character and a shy floral and clovy touch. Light-sweet and sourish flavour, rather light-bodied despite its 5.3% abv, initially moderately carbonated, later a bit fizzy mouthfeel. Wheat-malty and yeasty taste with a rather restrained level of fruitiness; pretty slim, wheaty and slightly fruity finish with late arriving phenolic spice. Slim and not too exciting wheat beer (19.X.08).
