COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic English-style nut brown ale with the nutty flavor of chocolate and special roast malts. Imported English variety hops (Fuggles and East Kent Goldings) balance the sweet and malty character making this flavorful beer easy to drink.

Bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of carmel, cocoa, light nuttiness and a hint of earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, carmel, light earthiness and a hint of nuts with a smooth lingering cocoa finish.

On tap at Central BBQ in Memphis. Dark brown pour, nutty and sweet aroma. Mostly ok but has a sour edge that is off-putting in the style.

Draft sample at Flying Saucer - Memphis. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a thin smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable above average brew.

Draft at the flying saucer in Memphis, Dark brown color, secret sweet malt nose, mild roast, moderate hops make for a well bittered brown, mild acrid tannin sourness though not offensive, a very drinkable brown, glad to find some local Memphian ales

Sampled at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition festival. Pours copper / brown with a light tan head. The aroma has toasty malt that is fairly full. The body is very light and watery with minor carbonation. The flavor is watery with sour fruits and sweet malt. This is not good at all.

Strykzone (4836) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 16, 2009
Dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is sweet caramel and tart hop. Flavor shows that this is a well hopped brown with caramel and rye. It gets sweeter toward the finish with more caramel, brown sugar and some cinnamon.

On draft at Flying Saucer Memphis. Poured clear amber brown with fair tan head. Nose of grain and malt. Very astringent. Tasted like someone pissed in a newcastle. Pass on this one.

Oct 21, 2008 On tap Flying Saucer-Cordova. Nice deep brown ale, very easy to drink- pretty malty with enough hops to give some balance. Fit well in a session with some other ales.
