COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A healthy portion of caramel malts gives this beer its brilliant amber color. Brewed with Glacier hops, this new American-grown hop variety gives the beer a unique, complex flavor (mint and citrus) with a balanced clean finish.

(draft at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition) amber with small head. Decent balance of malt and hops. Average pale ale - didn’t notice the Glacier hops much.

Draft at the Westin in Memphis. Pours a clear, bright orange-gold with a small white head and a decent amount of carbonation bubbles. Aroma of sweet malts, sugars, hints of citrusy fruits, and grass. Flavor follows along the same lines. Light-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Pretty basic pale ale.

Tap - Small foamy head, med amber color, good full rounded taste - more flavor than a typical pale ale

On tap @ Superior Bar on Beale Street in Memphis - part of the "Big Ass Beer" offerings. Light copper amber pour with a thick fluffy head leaving big lacing. Caramel malts and fruity hops dominate the aromas with a touch of herb and floral. Taste is more bitter than I expected - a good thing - with a citrus and slight mango hops quality and a good dose of sweet caramel type malts to offset and balance. Pretty good effort for a town that doesn’t do much brewing. Would definitely drink again - in the Big Ass Cup too!

Draft at the Westin in downtown Memphis. Pours a clear honey amber color. A smooth, lasting, cream colored head ramps up into thick walls and solid sheets of lace. The aroma is very grainy and bready, showing toasty, biscuity malts that come across a little stale. Faded green wildflower and citrus hops are the counterpoint. Flavors follow suit, balancing between toasty, cereal laden crystal malts and peppery wildflower hop notes. The body is moderate in stature and semi-dry, with moderate to lively carbonation. Though largely inoffensive, this brew is entirely forgettable and utterly boring.

Tap. Finger and a half of pure white head; coppery orange mostly clear color. Lots of cereal grains in the aroma, and really messy. Not getting any real hops there. Not as bad in the flavor in terms of a slightly fruity and bitter hoppiness, with some white grapes as well. Lighter body with vibrant carbonation.

12 oz draft at Rendezous BBQ in Memphis. Pour is clear golden amber with a smallish dirty white head. Aroma is ever so faint bitter hops along with a touch of toasted caramel sweet malt. The taste is pretty weak, though clean - featuring the caramel sweetness, toasted cracker malt up front and a very mild bitterness in the back. This is much more malt than hops. Palate is light bodied, bordering on watery, a touch under carbonated, easy enough to drink. A welcome (small) step above bog standard macro at a great BBQ spot.

Originally rated June 2010. Tried this one at B.B King’s Blues Club in downtown Memphis on my trip to Tennessee. Pours a clean copper colour with an off-white head that is creamy and offers good lacing. The carbonation is pretty vivid and the mouthfeel is medium-thin. Malty nose with slight fruit. Very light tasting with mild bitterness in the finish. An easier drinking lighter Pale Ale.

Draft in Memphis. Normal-looking gold/amber beer. This is very malty, with the musty character of my grandma’s basement back in the day. Weird. Pass. (#4050, 12/18/2010)

Orange pour with a thick head. Aroma is mostly caramel, with a hint of the hops. A middle of the road APA, but the finish is thin with a harsh bitterness that doesn’t play well with the caramel sweetness.

Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This American Pale Ale pours a light gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet and slightly hoppy. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are sweet and fruity. The hops are floral and earthy. Light carbonation. Crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
