COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with the finest two-row malted barley and German variety hops, Ghost River Golden’s mellow, refreshing character is accentuated by Memphis’ soft water. Munich and caramel malts give this beer enough sweetness to balance the crisp, dry finish.

This is a local beer for Memphis. It’s not much my style. Too light. But some people really like it. I had some early on and it was inconsistent, but GR has gotten better. Pours a golden clear color. Aroma is of grass, some hops, and taste is slightly sweet with an ending bitterness.

Several bottles throughout our trip to Memphis. Fairly light and dry with a bit of crack malt an mild bitterness. A bit grainy but no major flaws.

Pours a largely clear, yet sediment laden golden with a thicker, rocky white head that settles quickly, failing to lace. Nose involves hearty bread dough and grassy, spicy hops. Light flavor, with touches of sweet and tart along with a touch more bitterness. Surprisingly substantial body, not heavy by any stretch but more than light, tingly with active carbonation and bitterness. Really a nice session brew, very pilsner-esque, plenty of body and a fair flavor yet quenching, bright and dry.

DRAFT at Firetree in Memphis. Pours a golden yellow with moderate head which fades quickly. Moderately sweet initial taste with minimal hoppiness or bitters. Refreshing.

Clear, pale gold with a white head. The aroma has cereal grains with some earthy hops. It has a light, crisp body with lively carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a clean finish. This is a decent beer, but nothing exciting.

Bottle courtesy of a stranger at WOB. The beer pours a clear golden color with a medium thin white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pint on tap on Beale St. Irregular head, clear yellow. Light carbonation, soft body, supple. I taste some flour, basement tastes. Other than that, it’s pretty basic.

Bottle (brought back by a friend to NZ). More malt driven, with light caramel flavour, with herbacous notes from the hops. A little light on the palate, but refreshing.
