Good dense yellowish head, slowly dwindling over dull-amber beer. Aromatic nose, but with a short, sharp acetic streak. Some caramel and herbs - origano? Woody, liquorice, black cardemom and lots of caramel. No acidity or as good as none. Very faint hoppy notes in the finish, but not citrussy ones. Warming up, cheesy notes. Medium bodied, faint slickness, rather well-carbonated. Nose deceived. A - reasonably - well-hopped (British) ale, yes. An IPA - no. Many thanks to Jonas!

Flaschn (Vergelts Gott, Jonas!): Deep golden, a bit unclear, mid-sized lacy off-white head, moderate piney-fruity and hoppy nose, distinctive malty base; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering malty and restrained piney-hoppy finish, a certain fruitiness included. Hats off! A well crafted, not infected beer from Giesing.....

(bottle, 75cl, with thanks to Jonas) Hazy, amber colour with a big but loose off-white foamy head. Resiny and slightly fruity hoppy aroma with a spicy yeasty touch and a cara-malty background. Moderately sweet and bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Balanced cara-malt-character with fruity and resiny hops; moderately dry and mildly hop bitter finish with a tinge of sourness. Now they brew IPA in my birth town, but as Joris stated before it is rather a British one. 31.X.11

(bottle) pours a slightly hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy white head. aroma of dried fruit and caramel, slightly oxidised, with hints of tobacco, strawberries and rotten peaches. flavour is straciatella, grass and caramel, quite sweet, though not sugary, with a surprisingly minerally finish. medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation.

0.75l bottle. Pours a beautifull orange-red, light haze, fine carbonation and a off-white lacing head. Honey, hop-resin and light orangepeel aroma. Relatively lightbodied with a grainy-chewy and honeyish malt note, earthy, minerally, leafy hops, with citric overtones. A hint sourness on the finishing note, minerally aftertaste. In a blindtasting I would have guessed it was a slightly more hopped english IPA, not bad.
