COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re two nations separated by a common language. They call it Bitter we call it Pale.Either way this marriage of British malt and American hops is just what a proper ale should be. We’de say its on the money but they’d call it Bang On.

Bottle from Crosstown Liquor, Vancouver
Hazy copper-amber color with small creamy head. Strong smell of grains, wet malt, paper. Well carbonated, smooth mouthfeel; the malt flavor is a bit caramelly and biscuity; correct bitterness. Tea.
Tired feeling.

Golden-amber, thin head. Aroma is vague, bit crackery. More in the palate - crackery, earthy, foresty hops, a bit like bottled Bass or a 1990s bitter...not up to speed on what English pale is in England these days.

Bomber. Pours amber with a foamy white head. Floral aroma with underlying light roast malt. Med body. Flavor is floral with some grass and they underlying light roast malt. Very tasty. Not very bitter, but it’s good stuff.

Copper/amber pour with a white head malty up front, honey, bread, yeast, some mild hops, earthy finish. Nose was floral and lead me to think it might be a bit more bitter.

650ml bottle. Copper pour. Smell is toasted nuts, light resiny hops. Flavor is nice, herbs, cut grass, some alcohol twang. If this was 4.6 it woudl be a dream.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out English hops, some metallic notes, and some biscuity notes. Flavour brings out dry biscuity notes, metallic notes, and light English hops. Pretty bland, but balanced enough. Not terribly exciting stuff, but it’s okay.

Bottle:   When I saw this was an English Pale Ale I thought to myself, another skunked beer.   Well, until I realized it was made locally!   To my amazement, this one was a soft tea and citrus bitterness, with a soft smooth malt background.   A touch musty, but very smooth.   This is way too easy to drink.   With the American hops you might think it would be over the top, but this one has balance.   Soft hops, smooth malts, and a touch musty.   Bang On might be correct.   Well done!

On tap at City Beer in February 2014. (my first one from this Brewery) Clear amber with a small head. Fresh and easy to drink, with hops, fruit and malt. Also with light notes of "earth" and cookies. An ok one.
