COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A refreshingly complex wheat beer. Aromas of clove and banana intermingle with light smoke imparted from German malt kilned over beechwood fires.

Nicely hazy bright golden coloured body with a two centimetre tall pure white head - I thought this would be darker, but its very nice and similar for the style. Aroma of smoked malt, meat, mushrooms, earth, light hops, caramel and some oakiness. Medium-bodied; Assertive smoke flavour with a large meat and mushroom presence, some subdued hop elements and a nice and relatively stable wheat character that seems odd, but goes very well. Aftertaste shows a lot of smoke, yeast, oak and meaty notes with the sugars coming through near the end. Overall, a surprisingly well-balanced beer with a very noticeable smoked character, yet still a lot of the german hef characteristics to make this a noteworthy beer that just works well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Small Batch Liqours in Denver, Colorado on 08-June-2014 for US$6,49 sampled at home in Washington near the end of summer on 17-September-2014.

Pours a bright, hazy, yellowish golden with a very minimal white head. Aroma consists of wheat, orange, spice, banana, and some smokiness. The taste is what was advertised, a smoky hefeweizen. It is balanced well with a blend of wheat, orange, and smoke. There is some slight pepper, banana, and spices as well. No particular impression here really stands out over another. Some slight bitterness in here. Aftertaste is wheat and smoke. Light to medium in body, a bubbly texture, and some lively carbonation. This is pretty good, but I was expecting more. I wish it was smokier.

Visual: "Beer #18 in the endless series of limited edition artist and artisan beers". Pours very cloudy pale orange with a smallish head, a nice layer of creamy retention, some lacing, quite a few spread out steady streams, the last drops contains sediment. Nose: Somewhat muted. Light sourness, trace funk, lemon-orange curd. (lvl-3)-pungency Attack: immediate smoke, background acidity Mid-palate: crisp-tingly, (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) banana, lemon, airy wheat malts, light yeast Finish: light burpy, light-medium sourness, soft prominent bitter hops, clove exhale, citrusy-sweet crisp bitter hopped finish. Summary: A solid-bodied heffy with a compatible initially smoky twist. The smoke isn’t overpowering but adds and extra dimension to an already decent body.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a decent white head. Aroma of smoke, malt, and spice. Taste is smoke, bacon, spice, malt, and fruit. Not my cup of bacon.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a weizen glass. Pours cloudy deep golden with huge dense white head. Aroma is smoke and clove, medium body, well carbonated, and no lacing. Taste is clove, smoke, some banana, and long pepperoni finish. Nice balance between the flavors, different, but quality wheat beer.

Pours a hazy orangey yellow with a small white head and little lace. Aroma is banana, bubblegum, wheat, orange, cloves and a touch of peat. Flavour is smoke, phenols, peppery, cloves, orange, mild-medium bitterness and faint banana. Interesting and pretty tasty though I have a thing for smoked beers.

Bottle from Corvallis Brew Supply, Corvallis. Pours a fairly cloudy dun, lots of head. Only slight smoke character, lots of woody and estery character, body slightly dull and maybe more tart than most of the style. Finish has a nice citrus bite. Typical Gigantic, putting a slightly off-kilter spin on a style, and in fine form.

Pours a hazy golden orange colour with a thin white head. Some banana and bubblegum aromas. First sip was quite smoky along with wheat flavours. The smokiness faded throughout the beer. Overall a nice and interesting beer

On tap at Gigantic. Colour...hazy, golden straw with a thin head. Nose...lightly spicy with clove and light bonfire smoke. Palate...delicate CO2, a bitter/tangy feel with some bubble gum, citrus, smoked turkey and slightly bitter finish.

Bottle:   Now this is an interesting bird.   Smoked bubblegum, banana, and clove.   Has some slight citrus bits.   Does get a little Band-Aid like at times, but its not too bad.   Very unique at least.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Light smoke on the finish, some bubble gum, clove, banana, and even some citrusy wheatiness.   Pretty tasty, albeit could do without the slight Band-Aid at the start.   Otherwise unique and interesting.
