COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A refreshingly complex wheat beer. Aromas of clove and banana intermingle with light smoke imparted from German malt kilned over beechwood fires.

Smokiness in a beer is a new experience for me. Add clove and that distinctive wheat beer taste and it’s a little heady - but just medium abv. - exotic.

Smokey smell is incredible, the smoky, spicy taste is perfect. Beautiful golden blonde color, I log this beer.

A very nice hef. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. Smells of lemon, cinnamon and smokiness. Taste is like a saison, with some lemon and banana, but with a nice smokiness and cinnamon spiciness that sticks on your tongue. Quite nice. Had in the bottle.

Poured from bomber. Nice orange golden hazy color with a light lacy head. Weird overall aroma of banana, medicine or clove, wheat/yeast and hint of smoke. Thin yeast driven body gives way to similar flavors as the aroma. Very unique

From the bomber: Golden orange color with ample, well-sustained eggshell colored foam, leaving sparce lacing. It smells like a hefe, but a bit subdued. The flavor is not as sweet as the aroma, with a touch of extra bitter toastyness. It’s not quite a syrupy as the aroma either. didn’t taste much of the smokey quality. Sort of just like a standard hefe, but not bad.

Cloudly, muddled gold body with a quick to die head. The aroma is lightly smoked with wooden and earthen notes aplenty. A mild weiss spice blend with hints of clove and banana. Well carbonated with grainy malts and a ligth grassy hop in the middle. Pervasive but moderate smoky notes linger well throughout the finish. A nice, rather refreshing smoked brew.

Very hazy. A finger width head. Smells of smoke and bananas. Tastes of smoked bananas. Slightly bubble gum. Very palatable not too heavy on the smoked taste. Pairs well with tacos.

Bottle from Hazel’s beverage world. Pours golden with a thin white head. lots of lacing. Definitely has that hefe yeast thing on the nose with a hint of smokiness. More smoke on the tongue. Finishes clean. It’s an interesting attempt but I’m not feeling the combo of a smoky hefe.

Nicely hazy bright golden coloured body with a two centimetre tall pure white head - I thought this would be darker, but its very nice and similar for the style. Aroma of smoked malt, meat, mushrooms, earth, light hops, caramel and some oakiness. Medium-bodied; Assertive smoke flavour with a large meat and mushroom presence, some subdued hop elements and a nice and relatively stable wheat character that seems odd, but goes very well. Aftertaste shows a lot of smoke, yeast, oak and meaty notes with the sugars coming through near the end. Overall, a surprisingly well-balanced beer with a very noticeable smoked character, yet still a lot of the german hef characteristics to make this a noteworthy beer that just works well. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Small Batch Liqours in Denver, Colorado on 08-June-2014 for US$6,49 sampled at home in Washington near the end of summer on 17-September-2014.

Pours a bright, hazy, yellowish golden with a very minimal white head. Aroma consists of wheat, orange, spice, banana, and some smokiness. The taste is what was advertised, a smoky hefeweizen. It is balanced well with a blend of wheat, orange, and smoke. There is some slight pepper, banana, and spices as well. No particular impression here really stands out over another. Some slight bitterness in here. Aftertaste is wheat and smoke. Light to medium in body, a bubbly texture, and some lively carbonation. This is pretty good, but I was expecting more. I wish it was smokier.
