Bomber. Pours an orangey-gold with a big fluffy white head, really nice retention and lacing. Nose is fruity Belgian yeasts, fresh cut grass, lilies, strawberries. Mouth is also fruity (melon, grapefruit, strawberries, apricot), yeasty spice, lilies, bread dough and a bitterness that rides throughout. First beer I’ve tried from from these guys... definitely gonna have to try some more! Really nice.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
In short: A very fruity, very refreshing, hoppy and Saison-ish ale. Excellent.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase.
The look: Cloudy pale orange body topped by a large white head with medium retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose offers freshly squeezed oranges, other fresh fruits. This very bright fruity nose does not smell hoppy-fruity, nor does it smell fruity yeast estery, a bit of both maybe, or neither, whatever happened here the fruity aroma comes out really bright and fresh. Nose is also freshly squeezed fruits (oranges, lemons, grapefruits, pineapples) over honeyed cereals. A bit acidic with the lemony and grapefruity flavors coming out strong without much rich sweetness to oppose them. A bit of a Saison thing going on here with a nice rusticity sensation coming from the yeast and a high attenuation. Excellent beer with undeniable high drinkability, underrated, and reading some of the retard ratings for this fine beer makes me yearn for the good old days of natural selection.

bottle. Cloudy golden with one finger head. Lightly tart with substantial citrus. I don’t catch a lot of belgian influence. This is a strange beer, but not bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very hazy orange and copper coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of yeast, alcohol, wheat, curacao, caster sugar, a hint of honey and some very light fruit - nice and pungent all at the same time! Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour at first with some good wheat and yeast tastes, some mild fruit flavours and a hint of hay and grassiness. Aftertaste shows a good blend of yeast, malt and sugars with a bit of strength on the yeast and wheat tastes. Overall, a nice beer with a complex profile and some solid tastes throughout. Great to try of course, and surprising that I couldn’t find this in Portland on two separate trips, but I could find it in Alaska! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Brown Jug in Anchorage (Northern Lights Blvd), Alaska for US$5.99 on 22-May-2013 sampled in my hotel room in Valdez, Alaska on 24-May-2013.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is totally a Belgian pale ale.. And done well ... I don't care what they call it.. Citrus fruit aroma and some of that tastes carries through along with that Belgian yeast characteristic. Dry finish. Very refreshing and flavorful. Go gigantic!

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice light citrus and a touch of light fruits with backing sweet grains and Belgian yeast. Flavor has a good amount of floral and sweet grains with a light underlying citrus.
