COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It was upon my emergence from my craft that I realized I had traveled not to another place, but to another time. About me lumbered a number of stout men, burdened by heavy loads. Finding a sudden need to slake my thirst and steady my mind, I called out to one of these porters. He pointed to a tavern, inside of which I found this roasty, chocolaty, and supremely drinkable brew.

Bomber. Pours black with red highlights when held up to the light. Has a medium beige head with decent retention; leaves a skiff of foam and some lace. Aroma is bready, chocolate milk, licorice, burnt caramel. Taste is bittersweet. Has a faint hoppy flavor to go along with the roastiness of the malt. Mouthfeel is creamy, body and carbonation medium. Well-made and tasty.

Bottle from Brewery. Pours almost opaque, dark brown with creamy tan foam. Smells subtle, sweet, earthy, roasty and creamy with a hint of chocolate. Tastes warm and chocolaty with hints of vanilla and ends with a nice light bitter coffee.

Off the zwickel at Gigantic’s brewery 2/16 for Zwickelmania 2013. Easy-drinking porter with espresso and chocolate notes. Added freshness coming right from the tank.

22. Pours black with a scant tannish head. Some drippy lace. Big roasty, slightly sweet nose. Creamy medium body with light carb. Intense roasty flavors, some sweet chocolate notes, nice caramel undertones. Flavors really pop even from a cold bottle. Good porter.

Wow! Didn’t know what to expect from this bad boy... pours dark as dark can be. Medium carbonation. Slight coffee taste... this is good stuff.

22oz bottle. Clear reddish brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, vanilla and light coffee. Flavor is rich and malty with lots of chocolate, roast and a light caramel sweetness. Medium to full body with a soft, creamy mouth feel. This is a really great porter, very rich and flavorful.

Bottle. Colour...basically black though there is hues of garnet around the edges when held to the light. There’s an opulent head, as well. Nose...roasted malt, dried nuts and medium bodied chocolate. Palate...supple, velvety, and smooth. There’s a prevalence of CO2 that helps with the supple characters of the beer. Toasted nuts and cocoa mass flavours come to the forefront and meld beautifully with hints of light coffee. This is one of the more complex porters I’ve had and it is truly worthy of praise!

Opaque black/brown, tan head disappears. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, raisin. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, toasted almond?, bitter finish. Not sweet, sour and bitter. Palate is a bit thin for porter, carbonation moderate. Very dark chocolate forward.
