This beer is as American as soccer, boudin blanc sausage, Trabant cars, and, well, strawberry rhubarb gose. Strawberries , rhubarb and salt join Pilsner malt and malted wheat and just enough hops to notice that they’re there. A sour kettle technique is used to make a tart beer fermented by an ale strain that yields fruity esters on top of the berries. It’s strawberry rhubarb pie in a glass.

On draught at gigantic - pours cloudy copper with Newfoundland head. Nose of tart fruit, grain. Taste is of diluted tart fruit, salt, grass. Not getting much strawberry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Gigantic. Colour...clear amber with a thin white head. Nose...ah! Now THERE’S the rhubarb and strawberry. Seems like an S&R compote! Palate...tangy and slightly sweet with SOME fruit to start but then it rapidly dissipates and there’s just lots of gluey, gose-y tanginess with wisps of grain.

On tap at OBF. A: Cloudy orange color with a thin white head. N: Strawberry, rhubarb, salt, sulfuric acid, grapefruit rind, lemon zest, grist and floorboards. T: Salty and sour. Sweetness on the brim. M: LIght and easy drinking. O: Simple beer with too much salt and a sad lacking of fruit. I could also use more carbonation for the body. And the answer to: Who did eat all these pies?

On draught at 27th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival. Light pinkish red color. Aroma is light tartness, strawberry, and the slightly bitter rhubarb. Taste is similar to aroma, but the fruit is a little more present as well as a sea salt component. Nice tartness and fruitiness in a refreshing beer.

Tap at 2014 OBF. Aroma is quite tart; seems citrus. Med body. Flavor is mixed fruits, tart/sour with malt and citrus. Rather different. Tasty.
