COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A freakin’ hop bomb. Bright, multilayered citrus hop aromas and flavors blow up your face, with just the right amount of hop bitterness to back it all up.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours translucent copper with a slight white head. Aroma of citrus with some pretty brown sugary malt. Med body. Flavor is lots of citric hop with some pretty sweet caramel. A hop burn builds. This is not a NW harsh hop thing. It’s a very hoppy, smooth, lightly burning hop thing. Lots of redundancy there, but it’s appropriate. The burn continues to build, and the malt slowly sinks towards the sunset. Finishes pretty balanced surprisingly.

Rich, finely crafted DIPA. Recent bottle from 20 West. Thick golden appearance. Fruit in aroma and taste. Above average mouthfeel although somewhat palate erasing.

tp at Gigantic brewpub, PDX, 22/05/13. Lightly hazed golden with a decent sized white head. Nose is hops, grass, pine, light grapefruit, citrus notes. Taste carries a decent hop bite, bitter grapefruit, pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish, Decent enough DIPA.

Sample from firkin at the 6th Annual Rogue Firkin Fest at Green Dragon. The beer pours a clear amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, citrus and roast malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter citrusy hops character and notes of malt and pine. The finish is hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Grapefruit and pine aroma with light tropical fruit. Grapefruit and tropical fruit flavor with pine and light caramel. Medium bodied. Very good bitterness. Grapefruit and pine linger with tropical fruit and light earthiness.

Bottle:   Orange hued golden, pale haze, thin to moderate off-white head, nice lacing.   Musty hop aroma.   Faint alcohol, slight tropical fruit, candied citrus peel, and pith.   Aroma has all the aspects that I like, but its not too bright or seemingly that sweet.   Musty hop bitterness on the tongue.   Similar to the aroma, faint alcohol and tropical fruit, along with pith and citrus peel (not so candied at this point).   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Finishes musty, citrusy, but without as much sweetness to balance it out.   If you like hopsided IIPAs, this is for you.   If you want something balanced with malt sweetness, look elsewhere.   As is, decent.

22. Pours a murky burnished medium amber with a dense and creamy whitish head that sticks around. Beautiful tropical and citrus nose, lots of mango, pineapple, and orange, along with some dust. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Lots of orange peel on the mid palate, over caramel. Long orangey finish. Virtually free of resinous (or any other) heavy bitterness. A sweet/fruity hop bomb all the way. Hides the booze until the end, where there’s a vodka bite.

mcberko (5917) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 24, 2013
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours cloudy golden orange with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out resinous hops, pine and caramel malts - great nose. Flavour is pungent, with strong notes of piney citrusy hops, some grapefruit and other light tropical fruits, and a thin caramel biscuity malt backing. Very hoppy, with very little malt backing but just enough to balance the body - leaves a medium astringency. Excellent stuff.
