Bottle. Pours dark amber, small brief white head but nice lacing to the end. Aroma of fermenting yeast. Taste is slightly sweet to start, then metallic with caramel; finishes sour and tarry. Mouthfeel is thin.

Bottle, purchased at Trader Joe’s in Cary, NC. Pours copper/amber, with a medium whitish head, and some lacing. Aroma is malty, with some sweet caramel. Flavor is somewhat similar, with a slight malty caramel taste at the beginning, and then a decent hop-dry finish. A little thin, but I am surprised that the 4.2 abv doesn’t taste more watery.

NICE AMBER COLOR WITH A MALTY TASTE. A NICE MILD AFTER TASTE. A LITTLE BETTER THAN AVERAGE BEER.

A great name and a cool label. Too bad the beer inside the bottle is watery and bland. Drinkable yet highly forgettable.

Copper color with some deep amber highlights. Nose is sweet and nutty with a bit of caramel. Light to medium body. A tad bitter in my opinion, it kind of clashed with the aromas.

12oz bottle, copper color, not nearly dark enough for amber, but this is a pleasant surprise, palatable by me and enjoyed by a lot more people, this light caramel colored beer is nice to drink with meals and easy to share with friends.

No amber color here, mine poured a coppery red with a small off-white head. Sweet malt aroma with a hint of bread dough. Tastes of nutty malt with a toasty, slightly bitter finish. Medium bodied with a slightly watery feel at times. It’s not bad and it’s also definitely not a pale lager.

(Bottle) Pours an amber color with a little bit of a fizzy head. Aroma of sweet caramel. Taste is much of the same, and somewhat one-dimensional. No off flavors, but nothing too exciting. Definitely not a pale lager though...

Bottle. Definitely got the amber going with the color. Tall offwhite head and good lacing. Mostly hops and some pine in the weak aroma. Creamy mouthfeel with the taste being caramel malt and some spice hanging around. Has more to it than those average lagers. Aroma is the weakest thing

   AROMA 3/10   APPEARANCE 1/5   TASTE 3/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 8/20
gmcase (115) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 10, 2007
bottle. went head to head with another amber lager (bells) and it the gila loses. Neither beer was very interesting actually. The color was transparent much like the flavor. Nothing terrible but it tastes like a typical lager with some malt, a little malt thrown in.
