1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
bottle. went head to head with another amber lager (bells) and it the gila loses. Neither beer was very interesting actually. The color was transparent much like the flavor. Nothing terrible but it tastes like a typical lager with some malt, a little malt thrown in.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
By the bottle, a light amber tone to its appearance, with a nice off-white head. Quite malty with notes of caramel and subtle toffee. Just a hint of hops and a sweet malty finish. A very nice dependable spring/summer one.

Not a bad beer from Trader Joe's. Reminds me of a Killians with color.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours dark amber, small brief white head but nice lacing to the end. Aroma of fermenting yeast. Taste is slightly sweet to start, then metallic with caramel; finishes sour and tarry. Mouthfeel is thin.

1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
itís the color of that little bit of coke that is left when all the ice cubes melt in your glass. a little fruit in the nose (raspberry?) but heavier on the lemon/lime smell, also a fairly pronounced toastiness. the mouthfeel is fine, but pretty light. this is one of the weirdest beers iíve had. there is no balance at all. it has a similar sweetness/carmel flavor as broadside, but with none of the body, then thereís this american industrial lager toastiness thatís tied into a hay flavor with an actually sharp bitterness, seemingly without resins, like they had an addition of straight alpha acids. it is so weird deffinately not reccomended. colin and i agree that old style is a finer selection.

Iíve never known a beer that tastes this good at first sip and finishes so poorly - as in nothing. Subsequent pulls on the glass get weaker and weaker... If I didnít have a six pack - I would not have had another. Good to split with the dog or to cook with I suppose - but maybe not....
