4.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 crispy2000 (1) - Kingston, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 14, 2007 does not count
The beer is my absolute favorite. It has a nice aroma, crisp taste with a little bite not too much just perfect. It doesn’t seem to put on the lbs. Goes great with most foods. Overall has everything I like in a beer. This is not the new brewer I haven’t had a chance to see if the tast has changed.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Parrothead (283) - Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 29, 2005
Huge white billowy head, which leaves a nice lace on the side of the glass as it subsides. Not as much hops in the nose as I prefer, but still nice. A little diapointing on the back end. Overall, however, I likd this Pils, and my favorite style is North German Pils. I could enjoy am evening of this with a great meal...come to think of it, I’m cooking dinner tonight. better get going!

Stable white, nearly rocky head. Nice fresh hoppy flavour. Underlying fine malt flavour. One of my favorites. Very drinkable.

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2008 Yellow colour, nice carb, medium head, matters not to much with good German Pilseners.Woody ,fresh earthy and mushroom and lemon aroma,so fresh.Flavour, bitter the Germans some are so good at it 100%.Beautiful hoppy taste, refreshing,no other distinct flavours just a very good pilsener, love it.Holsten and Schwelmer are so similar and good to drink.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 NeroFiddled (105) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 23, 2002
Gilde is produced by the same brewery that makes Broyhan. It is the more agressively hopped and higher quality of the two. Although it generally does suffer in transport and storage (although it’s very, very rarely skunked), I’m surprised that it’s received so many negative comments. This is a very typical German pilsner as consumed in Germany.

Dryish with a medium sized head that soon evaporates.Low carbonisation makes for a pleasant but avaerage pils.

A thorough german beer. Simple up front with a long hoppy bitter finish. Highly recommended at the price.
