hophead75 (1678), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Apr 29, 2008 TAP NY 08. Lightly hazy blonde in color with a medium, nicely retaining white head. Aroma is nice and yeasty with a good amount of phenols and light esters. Taste is light fruity esters, moderate phenols over a medium honey sweet body with some candi sugar. The body is just a bit syrupy and sweet for the style- but this was a pretty nice tripel nonetheless. If they dried it out a bit it would be great.
beastiefan2k (1120), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Mar 21, 2008 8oz glass pour @ brewpub, a bit pricey. A slick-like golden color, very shiny and reflective within itself. The beer is very decent for the style with light syrup-like candi sweetness. There is a touch of spiciness from the yeast with an herbal character. A bit of coriander (or some other spice) in there as well. It’s not heavy but felt for a lighter Tripel, if that makes any sense. A nice sweet aftertaste, nice for a brewpub Tripel.
