This is quite possible one of the worst barleywines I have had. sweet and metallic with a lot of odd bitterness and dirt. Wet dog and rotting moss.

This didnt really taste like a true Barley Wine when I had it. Wasn’t on the menu anymore, but they had it. Odd color for a barley wine as well.

My Bottom Line:
This hop-happy Barley Wine lathers the tongue with leafy and earthy hop flavors which lead to a sharp and slightly astringent finishing bitterness. The thin body points towards an Imperial Pale Ale, or something of the sort, but its unidirectionality and lack of malt depth remain its downfall for me.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the cloudy pale orange hues.
-Wet leaves and citrus fruit tickle the nose.
-The prickly carbonation is too strong for the feeble maltiness.
-Tasted blind, one could think this were a monstrously hopped APA.
-Alcohol was shy, but present.
-Their Imperial IPA was so much better that day.
