On tap at the Otter. Pours a hazy red amber with a medium sized tan head. Sweet toasted malt aromas with a little light spice on the nose, though nothing prominent. Flavor is sweet with a little more spice. Finishes with a light bitter which contrasts well with the sweetness in the aroma and body.

Pint pour @ brewpub. Very very dark ruby red with a small but lasting and sticky head. Aroma is perfect for this style with lots of spices, mainly clove. However, what makes this special is there is a bit of hoppiness breaking through, just peaking its head out. The taste is again full of spices but there is also a nice light chocolate and dark malts. This aspects grows stronger as the beer warms up. The combination of the light hops in the aroma with the chocolate in the taste surrounded by those great spices makes this so awesome. On top of that its very easy drinking with average carbonation and low bitterness.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 pivo (2540) - GERMANY - MAR 17, 2005
Perfumy nose, brown color, low biege head. Caramelly toasted malt front with hints of dark fruit. A perfumy effect emerges in the middle once the brew evaporate a little into the nose. Spiced end. Thin and weak. An interesting experiement, but this needs more refinement.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 30, 2003
Delightful, sweet candies in insightful cigar sagacity...Indolent wheat malt within redolent berry fragrances...An inquisitive bitterness in the back surprises and comprises, with the full malt, a creamy dunkel weizen which borders bockland...
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - FEB 17, 2003
Moderately sweet, slightly spicy, fairly malty, medium carbonation and hops, vague cookie nose, slight alcohol flavor, decent head and brick-red body. Nothing outstanding to make one think "winter seasonal", not sure what it is besides a slightly more alcholic pale ale, honestly. Just ok.
