Keg at the taproom, 10/11/14. Clear golden with moderate off white spotting. Nose is pale malts, straw, grain, cereal, paper, rather thin. Taste comprises light caramel, more paper, straw, sweet notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Generic brewpub pils, infcat a sub par one at that, the blandometer was rising way past amber on this one!

Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear dark gold. Light hop aroma. Med body. Flavor is lightly nutty - enough to improve a pale lager. A little bready. A little hop in the finish.

draft. clean, firm malt throughout, a hallmark of these brewers. very light filbert nuttiness in the nose allows the subtle noble-like hops (dried leaves) to present themselves. clean, snappy, fresh, lightly nutty with firm malt structure and frothy carbonation. well-made as always with gilgamesh.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a mostly clear dark golden/amber color. Nose had a lot of corn on there, with a fair amount of grains. Taste was slightly sweet, with corn and toast coming through to me. Not really a huge fan of this one.

Tried this on a lark. Tasted really good. Light and crisp but with that added heaviness from the nuts that were added.

Draught. Poured pale yellow with thin fast dissipating head. Aroma is hay and filberts, lots of filberts. Pilsnerish taste, with a lot of nuttiness. Pleasant, but mouthfeel is marred by greasiness. Barman told me that is likely from the nuts. Balance finish, but again with the greasiness.

Draft served in a pilsner glass at Venti’s Taphouse, S.Salem. Appearance? Golden yellow with a nice sized pure white head. Nice lager aromas..bready, nutty. Good fresh taste..grassy, cereal, small hopping and some nuttiness that finishes off the mouthfeel well Good and smooth on the palate..no problem at all drinking this. Good stuff

Tap at 16 Tons. Hazy yellow, milky looking beer thst is one of the ugliest I’ve ever seen. Hazelnuts very apparent in both nose and mouth, with a little biscuit thrown in. This is no Rogue Hazelnut Brown, that’s for sure.

On draught at Gilgamesh The Campus. Clear golden color. Sweet nutty aroma. Never had a pilsner-style lager with such a dense flavor, with sweet filbert notes and a touch of herbal spice. Quite smooth and sessionable. Impressed.

Clear gold with a pretty platinum head that lasts. I could tell that I needed to let this one warm up because it came almost overly cold from the tap. Nose is crisp crackery malt, autumn leaves, light herbal hops, with a slightly sweet nutty chord running through it all. Taste is very true to the nose, with the nutty and herbal nuances filling in all the right places. Body is medium light, and the carb is active but not aggressive. While the bitterness is relatively low, the finish shines with herbal hops and rounded nuttiness. Fun beer, and another winner for Gilgamesh.
