On tap. Colour... unfiltered cidre. Nose... some tropical fruits and black tea. Palate... grain-like, some light citrus fruit and orange pekoe, then a quick finish.

Maybe a bit fruity for me. I admire what they were trying to do, but perhaps it just wasn’t the right night for it.

draft. strange bitterness provided by the tea leaves and tangerine rind. it matches the snappy pale 2-row malt and the dryness is well-placed. it’s only lightly fruity and the tea character doesn’t really stand out, but the body is well-structured, rigid and firm but it doesn’t feel weighty at all. acid is well-matched and yeast profile is clean. very interesting.

Tap at Sixteen Tons. Poured a light orange with a little white head and smatterings of lacing. Both aroma and flavor were dominated by the tea flavor, with light hints of tropical fruit on the finish. I don’t know if this is really a good "beer", but it sure was refreshing coming hot on the heels of the barrel aged festival I’d just finished attending. Not half bad, honestly.

Draught. Poured yellow with almost no head. No lacing. Aroma like fruit juice. Tasted like naartjie juice, not like a beer. No finish other than a sweetish note. Much too sweet. I approve of experiment, but this did not quite come off.
