COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gilgamesh Exbeerimental #3 - Mega Monster XXX Imperial IPA. Rich, malty, and bitter as hell. Our Imperial IPA is different from the typical because we have brewed it with 3 pounds of humulus (hop pollen). Additionally, 1.5 pounds of hops are crammed into every barrel and boiled for 120 minutes. Reddish in color with a heavy body, this has a smooth sweet start, with a lasting “Monster” bite.

On tap at Venti’s South. Big body, thick and sticky. Pine and bitter throughout dominated by caramel and other sweet flavors. Finish is a mix of sweet and bitter.

A real "monster" of a beer. Big, strong, Sumerian? Find this beer ASAP before the craze really takes off.

Dark brown, fresh but slightly cheesy. Bitter and zingy on the tongue but loads of sweet burnt toffee flavour over does it. Bitter in a tight, fore-tongue way.

Draught. This gets marked down for a somewhat sweaty aroma. Lekker hop flavour. Big body, big alcohol. Big finish.

described as a beer conceived as an imperial IPA but straddling the line between barley wine and DIPA (so let’s just call it american strong ale), it’s surprisingly dry and elegant for being so weighty and big. american hops provide strong buzzing acidity while the yeast gives it a rustic character reminiscent of rogue’s pacman strain. solid malt with moderate acid and medium-low carbonation support the slightly chewy and sweet body. surprised to say it, but here’s an "american strong ale" that gets it right.

Tap at 16 Tons. Surprisingly dark brown pour with a decent cap of tan foam. Extremely interesting aroma for an IPA, with some resinous hops along with some chocolate and caramel malts and some light pine. Taste started pretty mild, I even commented to Jesse behind the bar that it didn’t nearly taste like 100 IBUs. But then a big resinous, pine burst comes through in the middle, before fading once again to some chocolate and caramel. Pretty solid beer, but not really the way I prefer my IIPAs.

On tap at Plew’s Brews ($3 pints all the time). Sharp hop aroma almost makes me sneeze, very bitter citrus w/ a deep caramel just edging in. No head over clear red brown. good mouth weight despite being flat. Just a hair shy of too harsh in flavor, plus alcohol and a distant dark sweet.
