3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark cherry colors with a tan foam. Aroma of coffee and piney malts. Decent body but light roasted flavors have little hop support. Some bitterness in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Pours black with minimal foamy fish-eye head and light lace. Dark bitter nose, some 80+% type dark chocolate and plenty of campfire and resin. Not really a distinct profile there. Light, watery-ish body with sluggish carb. Roasty, resiny, dark chocolate-y mid palate. Earthy, dry, roasty finish. Not very organized.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very, very nice. It’s a little watery up front. But the hops give way to an amazingly nice coffee back end. Plus, I like saying "Gilgamesh."

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours two fingers of head on an almost black body.
The aroma has chocolate, coffee and a little lemon and pine. Nice blend.
The taste has a nice moderate pine bitterness throughout, the coffee and roasted malt in the background provide a good balance.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.

"My buddy held onto this for a bit too long (got it two months ago and it likely wasn’t brand new) so the "cascadian" part has pretty much passed, but what’s left is ok. Little coffee on the nose, but ample coffee flavor. That saves the beer from being pretty boring otherwise. The dark malt is ok, but it seems Gilgamesh has a commonality with their beers, regardless of style or age. It’s not bad, but I like more of an obvious difference between styles...and not sooo strong of a house flavor. That said, this beer was pleasant enough I’d give it another shot fresh

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Choc coffee aroma with a hint of hops come from this clear brown ale with a med brown head. The taste is choc with a good blend of hops and a nice bitterness during the aftertaste which compliments the whole brew. The beer is med bodied and a good carb. Great dark ale.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Pours out a dark brown almost topped with a tan head. Nose is tons of coffee hops and roast malts. Taste is as the nose with lots of coffee acid bitterness and a grapefruit pithy on the end.
