Red colour. There’s a lot of rich amber maltiness on the nose. Same palate, soft and with light juiciness.

On tap at the Gilroy’s brewpub. Can not get used to Gilroy’s flat beers. Palate: light body, thin feel, flat. Also definitely not an "explosion of flavours". Too sweet.

Splitenz (329) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 10, 2014
A good dark amber beer with floral aroma and a good fairly strong taste. Malty and not as strong in the hops as one may have wanted, leading to a bit of a watery mouth feel. Still, a good beer to drink through the South African night.

Very nice beer. Aroma is a full taste. Does’s give you gas or heartburn. And no hang over in the morning.

Draft at the brewpub. Nice red color with even, short, stable, and loose head. Fruity (plum and apple skin) malt aroma with an old ale twist The malt character shines, and continues to resemble old ale, with some bread and a little butter too but in check. Late bubble gum, bazooka. True to style. Here, the nitro actually works.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge cream colored head. The aroma is acidic malty with notes of caramel and metal, leading to a dry and tart finish. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange to brown with a lacing off-white head. Mild orange fruit and malt aroma. Flavour is mild citric with an almost gone malt flavour. Citric and mild infection flavour into the finish. Sadly another bottled version that was off :(

(Bottle 34 cl) Clear, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Lightly nutty and vaguely burned aroma. Light in body and a little low in carbonation. Very pleasant nutty accents, soft mouthfeel and a smooth finish almost without any bitterness. 040508

Ruby, rich color with minimal head. Aroma is very bright berry and plum fruits. Flavor starts with almost sour cherry but finishes with a spicy, hopped dryness that is quite addictive. A refreshing session ale.
