5/II/2012 33cl bottle early 80s vintage @ vintage tasting Brugs Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2012-93) Thanks to Thierry for the sample!

Clear amber coloured beer, big off-white head, still stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: port, walnuts, mildew, little sweet, pepper. MF: still carbon, light to medium body. Taste: card board, cork, some port, watery, some caramel, toast. Aftertaste: watery, slight port note, walnuts. Note: yes, I’m aware it’s a +- 30 years old vintage, but my guess it’s as a good as any bottle to rate in this case. :p

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels.
Completely clear ambwe with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma is sweet, caramel, yeast, red apples, coriander. High carbonation, okay light dry mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of toasted caramel, yeast, some red apple. High sweetness, light Belgian sugars. Some malty graininess and bitterness towards the end. Actually quite comparable to the Op-Ale, I had earlier. This is much cleaner, simpler and better. Not splendid, though.

Bottled. An amber coloured beer with a white head and lacing. This is a bog standard Belgian ale with a yeasty aroma and some peppery hops. A bit thin but this beer shows that even run of the mill Belgian ale is still usually drinkable.

Bottle, thanks for sharing dEnk! Clear dark orange to golden pour, thin white head. Aroma of fruity malts and pub ale. Flavor is slightly bitter, fruity, and with some ginger. Bitter finish, decent carbonation.
