Alengrin (2076) - BELGIUM - AUG 19, 2014
This rating concerns the Brunehaut version. Yellowish white head, deep yellow blonde, hazy robe. Weak aroma, grainy, wheat, minerals, hint of coriander, hint of citrus peel, iron. Neutral onset, bit metallic, dry ’graininess’ with faint coriander, light sourish yeastiness in the end. Completely stereotypical and even somewhat bland witbier.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellowish, pale golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, non-lacing, white head. Typical Witbier aroma in cautious façon, lemon, orange peel, coriander. Taste is minimally sweet wheaty, hints of orange peel. Not really refreshing but rather fusty.

Jaune trouble-opaque, sédiments en suspension, effervescence forte, col blanc abondant. Une Blanche trop aqueuse et un peu plus fruitée que la moyenne.

Shared a 33cl bottle from Delheize. Pours a hazy whitish yellow colour with a nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, hops and banana. Medium carbonation and light body. Flavour is bitter and sour with a dry finish. Nice and refreshing.

Really really bad white beer. The worst I had of its kind. Too bland and with a bad aftertaste.

33cl bottle at home. Golden blond coloured beer with lots of carbonation and a large but diminishing white head. Pilsener malty aroma with some light herby and hoppy grassy notes. Medium to full palate. Finish is bitter sweet suggary with a strange bitter herby almost unpleasant note. Medium.
