Fruity beer with rich taste made by packaging "Weizen", the traditional beer in the South Germany made of over 50 % of wheat malt, without filtering beer yeast.
Note: This beer comes in the can, pictured at left, and in a new bottle that is labeled "Silver Bottle." US Import listed as "Plateau of the Galaxy" on back label.

300. Pours a cloudy medium gold with a loose white head. Bananas and skunk on the nose. But not too much of the banana side. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Skunky, bready mid palate with some mild banana and clove happening. Earthy finish.

Bottle at Benton Cafe in Orlando. Very nice flavor and aroma. Went well with our sushi dinner.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2013 Can from Bic Camera. Hazy very pale yellow colour with white head that fades almost immediately. Aroma is buttery, bit of banana, touch of spice. Taste is similar, quite wheaty, but fruity and buttery too. Aftertaste is very malty. Quite smooth in the mouth, with a bit of a spike from the spice. Alright but not wildly exciting.

Banana and clove notes in the aroma with hints of nutmeg. The beer pours a cloudy gold color with a white head. Spicy clove and banana flavors, finishes very crisp. Great beer.

Wow. Completely surpirsed by this beer! Exceptional light but tasty hefe flavor. Certainly not something that you would anticipate for a Japanese beer. It is lighter than a typical German Hefe, but very ioce flavor. My one downfall of the beer is the lack of head and lacing. There is none. Slightly flat and unspirited.

10.1 oz blue bottle from Total Wine in Las Vegas NV Cloudy yellow, with a quickly evaporating head, and no lace. Aroma has some slightly sour notes and overripe banana. Flavor is sweet banana, with a touch of sour, some clove spice, and a light lemony finish. Pleasant surprise.

Can from Kinokuniya. Pours cloudy yellow/white. Aroma is little bit yeasty, citrous and spicy. Taste is very refreshing. Citrous hops, coriander, milk texture. Some malt and wheat on the finish.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very thin and fast-dying white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, curacao, dough and a bit of funk. Medium-bodied; Great full mouthful with a lot of wheat and banana flavours coming through, a touch of clove and coriander seed and a little sweetness on the tail end from bubble gum. Aftertaste nice and refreshing with a little spices, but mostly sweet and bright flavours to show off. Overall, a nice beer for sure, great to sample and one for sure that if I didn’t know where it came from - I would have guessed Germany - a nice beer, especially for the country of origin and the style. I sampled this 300 mL bottle purchased at CitySuper! Grocery Store in Hong Kong (two IFC) on 10-August-2010 sampled at home on the other side of the world in Washington on 31-March-2011 - after the horrible events on 11-March-2011 in Japan - I figured I’d round out the month by drinking this in honour. Good luck to you Japan.

Bottle from Matsuma (I think that’s the name of it) in San Diego. Didn’t really want to spend the 5 bucks on this 12 oz (or less) bottle, but now I’m glad I did. 1st of all, the bottle is beautiful. My wife wants to keep this one. Then the beer. Seriously thick haze in an orange-amber pour. Nose is lotsa yeasty citrus goodness. Cloves and white wine. Taste is lovely. Citrus/lemon and tart yeastiness. White wine and allspice. Ginger and apples. Really nice.

Served from a 350 mL bottle from the Exchange. The appearance is a slightly hazy pale white grape hue. The aromas are light with yeast and wheat. The flavors are similar with some light clove hints. With a bit of a cold I may be missing a bit here but an ok hefeweizen.
