nicolascage (102), Copenhagen (Virum), Denmark Jul 29, 2006 Bottle. A thin stout. Nothing bad about it but nothing special as well. Need a bad selection of beers to select this again.
Maria (4418), Thisted, Denmark Sep 17, 2008 TFODRBSG08 Courtesy of Faroeviking. The beer is red-brown and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of candy sugar and caramel. The flavour has sweetness, notes of roasted malt, candy sugar, caramel and a slightly dry grapefruit in the finish. As a stout it would fall through, but as a brown ale, I can accept it. asheft (963), Marburg, Germany Sep 16, 2008 [bottle from Rewe, Marburg]
Weak aroma of cinnamon and ethanol that is a bit sour. Almost opaque orangish brown with a lasting orangish-tan, thin cover. Schwarzbier, no matter what the label or listing says. Crisp and lagery with a gentle molasses sweetness that is complimented with a healty dose of sourish noble hops. Unremarkable. Tangy sweet finish, medium body, medium carbonation. KimJohansen (4296), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 10, 2008 Hazy brown with large beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt and caramel notes. Sweet and somewhat watery flavour with caramel and roasted malt. Ends sweet. faroeviking (4414), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Sep 10, 2008 Botella at home in front of the fireplace. Clear deep dark brown colour with a big well lasting light brown colour leaving a fair lacing. Aroma of mildly roasted caramel with some dark fruits, malt and a mild bitterness. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has thin mild roasty caramel and malt with bitter hops, some bread and a light tarstness. Too bad it’s too thin. It’s a good Brown Ale this "Stout". plovmand (676), Helsinge, Denmark Aug 29, 2008 Bottle at Ulfborg RB tasting. Courtesy of faroeviking. It poured brown with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel and some roasted malts. Flavour is malty with some metallic notes. Soft mouthfeel.
