Dark beige head, fast gone over virtually black beer; shards of lace. (Wal)nutty, but also hazelnuts, perfumed in a very good way; roasted aromas. Sweet, liquorice, roasted nuts, black rice, walnuts. Not really well-bodied, but quite grist-slick. Not bad, just a tad too timid and sweet.

on tap at the brewery in the middle of nowhere - big thanks to my buddy josh fo driving to a few of the breweries near yokote. anyways, a very enjoyable experience at the brewery which must have made me especially keen to like this stout. quite close to black with a thin beige head; decent if unstouty aroma of coconut butter, caramelised white chocolate and yoghurt coated sultanas; quite sour with hints of cherries, burnt toast, light smokiness and a decent dry stuff. delicious. i guess it doesn’t travel well
