Not bad, not exceptional. The nose is very citrusy with big lemon nofes backed by clove, dough, and a touch of vanilla. Not as much banana presence as in other versions of the style. The beer is hazy yellow with an oddly quickly falling head for a wheat beer. The taste is crisp lemon backed by clove, but limit to those two. Crisp and light bodied, this would make a very good summer beer to relax with.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Beer looks great for the first minute, not so much after that. The beer is a too tart for my liking, and "disturbs" the other flavors...which of course will lower my palate score. Thought it was going to be better.

Can from foodshow in shibuya. Drank straight from the can. Big clove aromas upon opening with some banana as well on the nose. Starts out slightly sweet on the palate and then becomes lightly peppery/spicy. Tastes of bans cream pie and bubblegum are there but not cloying. Excellent peppery dry finish. A very respectable weizen.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2015 bottle In Osaka. cold storage at rakuichi. and a can 2 days later was identical. fresh, pleasant hefeweizen with a nice moderate banana aroma. wlp300 I wonder? fairly good. I wonder if people rating this lower were having it shipped and not fresh.

Meh. Itís really a very very dumbed down version of a Weizen. Almost a commercial mass produced light lager, really. I would not even give this beer my number much less let it in my pants.

Pours hazy straw colour with low to medium white head. Aroma is kinda spicy and of kinda stale wheat. Taste is slightly too sweet.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 Can picked up on sale at Yamaya. This beer pours pretty as a picture with a light golden honey hazy color & a thick fluffy white head. A wheaty soft cloves aroma. The beer is smooth bodied with a round carbonation. Itís got nice wheat character as well as cloves though the yeast may be a bit too prominent but that is quibbling. A solid Weizen.

Can (Kyoto)
Hazy yellow color, steady small white head. Overriped banana dominates the aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Yeasty, overriped banana flavor is also in the flavor. Nice to have good-bodied, unfiltered weizen in a can. Not perhaps the most perfect hefeweizen but drinkable.

Very dry example of the style. All of the right aroma, haze, and color. The signature weizen yeast flavor comes up front and finishes very dry.
