Lovely rich roast, I do get a soy aroma, Anna in turn got a bit of veg. Taste is big on the grains. Classic malty dunkel. Simple finish continued the grains in the taste. Fairly full palate, smooth, but with good carbonation. Super drinkability - easily sessionable.
Rerate: Tap (Gintaro Baras) (6-:4:7-:3:13-=3.3--)
Iron and kidney aroma. Full palate. Big bitter coffee retronasals. Fades to a mocha finish. A bit watery. A little drying.

(Rating #4216)

My Bottom Line:
Burnt cereals, coffee and a toasted undertow move into torrefied bitterness for a rough Lithuanian Tamsus.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the dark brown haze.
-This tastes like the darkness was achieved through too much black patent malt.
-Carbonation is prickly, pushing through burnt flavors.
-Finish is also dryish. Some residual sugars would have helped in this case.
-This was only the third time they brewed this Tamsus...

On tap at the brewpub.
