3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(75 cl bottle, bought in 2009, opened 11/2012) Chestnut-coloured and hazy with a creamy beige head. Smells of sherry, with fruity and peppery notes. Aroma of cherries, apples, caramel and madeira wine as well. Hardly any bitterness, but some some acidity and sweetness. Moderate and tolerable sweetness at first, that becomes stronger with time and is an important part of the aftertaste. I guess that’s what the sucralose does, that can be found on the list of ingredients. I would have preferred a tart and drier finish, but then it probably would not pass as a Faro. I was still pleasantly surprised by this beer, that to me tastes like a mixture of oud bruin and lambic. I don’t get the pilsener part, though - is that really in the mix? Anyway: different and interesting.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
They say Faro pairs perfectly with Sci Fi so while watch g a film popped open this bottle from Ippopotamo36. Dull brown pour nose of apple skin and brown sugar. Tastes of apples, white wine, wood, some brown sugar, vinegar, and caramel. Not overly sweet which is much appreciated for bottle this size when enjoying by yourself. Actually quite pleasant sipper. Thanks a ton Alberto!

Bottle shared @ dangerous bottleshare #8 . Pours hazy amber with a bright tan head. Aroma is pretty rural with some sour apples, funky brett, weak vinegar, horse blanket and some more sugary and malty notes as well. The taste has some weak cheese, weak sugar, sour apples, sweeter caramel notes, ginger, vinegar and dry wood. Faro has never been my style but this was drinkable indeed!
