Bottle. Clear reddish colour with a small white head. Sweet raspberry aroma and sweet sugary notes. Nice framboise.

Bottle, from Noel Cuveliers, Abele. Exciting start to this one. Uncaged the cork, started working the cork loose, and then left the bottle for a minute. Suddenly Bang! Foam! A bit of scrambling, and then eventually got things directed into a glass. The aroma was kind of elusive at first. Sweet, jammy...but there was something else at the edge of memory. Then I got it: donut! A maple glazed donut, the kind injected with fruit goo. Not elegant, but kind of fun. Flavor is more subtle than the aroma, sweet, but finds a balance with some nice dried raspberries. Softly tart finish. As a sweetened lambic I thought this was nicer than most.

Thought it odd that Iíd not rated this but bought and rated a bottle @ Lowlander a couple months ago anyway, sure enough, as I randomly scrolled through my old phone I found a rate from Ealing BF last year. Itís actually quite interesting to see the difference in my rating style since then, however the scores were amusingly only 1 point different. Oh well, at least itís in the upper echelon of lambic fruits and I can just combine the two. Red with an orangey hue, like anodized aluminum, with a thin white head. Nose is initially sweet raspberry but theres also some strawberry and lemon in there along with the usual lambic tartness and funk. Taste is much the same, sweet with a little balancing vinegar acidity and dryness. Iím not in any way upset that Iíve had another, Iím just left with a sinking feeling that I may have had rates on the old sim card that my ex absconded with, Díoh!

375ml via trade with Dany aka Glougoburp. Thanks dude. Shared with my gf Cyn. A good way to ease myself back into to drinking. Pours reddish with a 1 finger tan head. Nice sweet nose, a bit too juicey. Taste is sweet, but refined on certain levels. Not quite sour enough for my taste. Its alright. glad to have had it.

Bottle at ZBF 2008. Clear pink/red - white head. High raspberries, light synthetic, light acid, a bit like kids soda-pop, high drinkability, light white sugar.

2008-03-01. Bright red body with a white-pink head (3+). Sweet raspberry fruit aroma. (7+) Similar bold raspberries in the flavour, tart-sour raspberries throughout. Fruit dominates the flavour, which I actually sort of like in a framboise. (7+) Average to light palate suits the beer. Very good. Quaffable and refreshing, emphasis on the tart raspberry rather than sour lambic character.

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours clear and golden red with a little lacing white head. Solid raspberry aroma, dry yet fruity. Light sulphorish, dry raspberry flavour. Goes into a dry sulphorish finish. Nice.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2008 Thanks Matt. The beer pours to a reddish orange body with a thin starch white body. Spotty lacing. The aroma is just like fresh raspberry preserves. Light malt quality. The flavor is awesome. Sweet red raspberry preserves. Oh so fresh and fruity. The palate is sweet, tart, but not overly so. Very delicate. 8, 4, 8, 4, 16 = 4.0. Re-rate. Exactly the same as my notes elude to. But, I liked it better.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2008 Poured mostly clear orangey-amber with a short dusting of pinkish-white head. The aroma picked up rich, tart raspberry skins and seeds with a lovely level of funk and tart overtones.. very, very engaging. The flavor was sour throughout with raspberry vinegar, some lemon zest, and wheaty tartness.. the seeds seemed so fresh, yet there was some age and wisdom evident.. sour, long finish. Medium-bodied and again very engaging on the palate with lingering sour raspberries.. really good stuff!

2/29/08: Thanks to Facto for bringing the bottle. Poured clear, brighter raspberry with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up fresh raspberry seeds and a bit of funk to it.. drier yeasty notes provide another layer. The flavor had tart raspberry seeds, dry floral notes, and dusty funk rolling along.. a little sour and well-balanced, with a great sweet/sour contrast on the finish. Moderately sour and funky on the palate, again with nice balance. Very enjoyable beer! 7 4 7 4 14

Pink-red color with small reddish head. Aroma of fresh rasberries, hints of cork or earth. Fizzy mouthfeel - with strong rasberry fruity flavors makes this a bit like soda pop. Some sourness, but not to extreme. Nice fruity aftertaste with light cellary notes. Light, balanced, even refreshing framboise lambic.
