Beautiful pink head on a red and deep orange body, beautiful laces; Deep complex nose, very pleasant but could be a bit more up-front, super balanced mix of sour, sweet, fresh, age. It has raspberry, orange, wood, sour and dry notes, very, very pleasant; The body has a very special texture and carbonation, that melts together with an oily feel with out being the least sticky and still staying super fresh, quite full, a little sour and a very little salty; Into a very long finish where the aroma is super mellow and flows out softly, the acidity is very pleasant and stays very long. Super, super, super beer!

as far as fruit lambics go this a very harmonious not too sweet and not too sour version. The raspberry flavour are much mor in the leaves and pips than fruit. definitely one of the best. yumm. sorry, more drinking than rating, it’s too goooooood.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2010 2004 bottle. This is for sure great stuff! Pouring hazy red with a large pink head. As soon as the glass gets near your head a vinous aroma of sour raspberries and dry wood hits the nose. Mmmm.. The flavour is slightly sour raspberries that tickles your mouth due to the carbonation and weak malty notes. The dry and sour raspberry taste gives a nice long and pleasant after taste.

Bottle: The bottle opened with a large POP! Poured a bright red/pink colored beer with a huge head with excellent retention. Carbonation is very strong and aroma is comprised mainly of sweet raspberry. Taste is very refreshing with a very good taste of raspberry (not too much sweetness though) and tart. I appreciated the fact that the acidic part was well covered and wasn’t taking too much place. Overall, this was a very refreshing drink that I wouldn’t mind trying again on a hot summer day.

Pours a dark reddish brown. Extremely pleasant raspberry aroma spreads around the room. Taste is woody and tart, rather dry but still nicely fruity.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2008 Thanks Matt. The beer pours to a reddish orange body with a thin starch white body. Spotty lacing. The aroma is just like fresh raspberry preserves. Light malt quality. The flavor is awesome. Sweet red raspberry preserves. Oh so fresh and fruity. The palate is sweet, tart, but not overly so. Very delicate. 8, 4, 8, 4, 16 = 4.0. Re-rate. Exactly the same as my notes elude to. But, I liked it better.

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours clear and golden red with a little lacing white head. Solid raspberry aroma, dry yet fruity. Light sulphorish, dry raspberry flavour. Goes into a dry sulphorish finish. Nice.

Lactic raspberry aroma, light hops. Very fruity. Deep blood red, cloudy, with light pink lacing head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Tart, lactic up front. Very fruit, but not overly sweet like Lindemans. Finish is medium acid, lightt bitter, and fruity. After is medium bitter, medium acidity, chalky. Very nice framboise.
