Yes, I am so happy they had this! Poured like a masterpiece! Nice fluffy head that is slowly fading away. Nice translucent dark orange color. Looks like a lovely beer to me. Ah, this beer has a lovely aroma. Sweet/sour fruit aroma coming through along with skunk and funk! Also, nice subtle brett smell. Even at a bit colder of a temperature this thing is still pungent as anything I have ever smelled. Hits the back of my nostrils..oh so pungent. Man the aroma just keeps developing, I am getting some charred wood, and leather as it warms up. Wow, taste is damn good. Nice sour taste at first, and then the thing really turns SOUR. Nice sour lemon and brett flavor. Also the sweet flavor mixes in quite well with the sour flavor. You get the best of both worlds. This beer just leaves a wonderful sweet fruit, sour, and brett taste in my mouth. Even after tasting it and licking my lips I get that sour flavor. Ah a little charred wood and leather in the flavor as well. Very smooth beer. Damn, I wish Green’s had more of this. By far one of the most delicious beers I have tried thus far. ksurkin (354), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Oct 26, 2009 12.7oz, corked & caged bottle from grape & gourmet. pours a very bright, gold with a thick, bubbly white head and solid lacing. aroma is pure, excellent, brett funk with big citrus notes of sour lemon, granny smith apple, sour white grape, with notes of barnyard, hay, burlap, dry leather, and wet wood. flavor is excellent and wonderfully tart with big, funky brett notes, sour apple skins, lemon zest, and a touch of sweet apricot with milder dry, grassy, barnyard, light malts, and earth leaving a dry, tart finish. palate is medium bodied, very dry and crisp, with a solid mouth puckering sourness. overall, a damn nice gueuze that was a great introduction to the style. nickd717 (1265), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 26, 2009 Bottle from K&L in Redwood City. Pours a slightly hazy brilliant golden color with a large white head and good lacing. Aroma is what you’d want from a great gueuze: citrus/lemon tartness and funk, maybe a touch of sweet malt as well. Flavor is funky tartness and lemon with some sweet pale malt poking through. Extremely well-balanced and good. Palate is sharp and acidic with soft carbonation and medium body. Very drinkable, not at all overly sour. This may be the best gueuze I’ve ever had.
