Great and with very high drinkability. thewolf (5662), Kolding, Denmark Mar 29, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours a wonderful, pale orange with a small white film head. Aroma is tart, lots of sourish apple, some caramel, barnyard and funkiness. Low to medium carbonation. Exceptionally rounded flavour! Lots of sour apples, not as dry as other gueuzes, very fruity and champagne-like. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 28, 2008 Bottle via Beerlando. Cloudy, golden color. Smell of sour apples, champagne, lemons and some cherries. Taste of tart, sour apples, champagne and very acidic. Love this style! Great lambic. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Mar 25, 2008 Cask at the White Horse with tashi. Hazy orange, typical gueuze appearance. Wonderfully dry aroma of tart apples and a slight cheesiness. Very enticing. Flavourwise, less dry, more sweet and the sourness is not overdone. It’s tart but not excessively so. tashi described it as "a good beginner’s gueuze" and I’d agree with that. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 14, 2008 2006 Bottle. Cloudy golden body with a medium fizzy white head. Sour earthy and apple aroma. Sour apple, light earthy and hints of grapefruit flavor. Light body with high carbonation. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Mar 11, 2008 [sampled at Hopleaf, Chicago] Strongly acidic, almost metallic aroma. Musty and sour. Very cloudy yellow color with some tight white foam. Tart, acidic flavors; some mild green apple character. Almost cider-like. Very mouth drying. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Mar 10, 2008 Updated: Mar 11, 2008375ml bottle. Gold-orange color with small carbonation and a creamy off-white head. Honey, lemon, wet wood, a floral aroma. Sour and acidic, with a little musty woodiness. Starts with a little sweetness, and then dry and tart. Has enough malt body to balance the tartness, and that is really the kicker for me. Light body and champagne-like carbonation. The balance and complexity are amazing. I didn’t really like gueuze before this, but the balance and drinkability of this beer has completely turned me around. yespr (11649), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 8, 2008 ZBF2008: as Girardin gueuze ongefiltered black label.
