Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2007 I’m not a fan of sour beer ,but this gives a different idea of what a good sour beer could taste like. the carbonation goes quite simple with the sourness. More Citrusy then acidic. nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2007 The aroma is sour and tart with funky wild stuff and herbs. The appearance is hazy gold. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. This is hard to drink but at least it’s carbonated. muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA Jul 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours orange gold with an off-white head. Aroma is powerful tart acidity, with lots of ripe fruit, orange, and dungeon. Flavor is initially a strong lemon tart, with more flavors coming put toward the finish, floral notes, grapefruit, and even some lightly sweet oaky notes. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 14, 2007 Bottle. Golden / orange colour with a white head. Aroma is sour, grapefruit, citrus. Flavour is sour, yeast, apple , citrus. Nice beer. rayg1 (433), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Jul 11, 2007 Updated: Oct 1, 2009Pours a nice golden color with an actual head on it that lasted (first for my lambic experiences as most are pretty flat). Smell is insanley sour and tart, this was the first beer to actually make me nostrils tingle. Very musty and dark smelling. Taste is gorgeous! Wow, wonderfull sourness mixed with some light citrus to go with it. Man this is good lambic, now I know why people rave so much about them. I would drink this any day, possibly the best thing I’ve ever tasted! Darkover (1308), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 10, 2007 Slightly hazy golden/orange color with a white head. Aroma of sourness, citrus and some barnyard. Very sour with some bitterness. Finish is also bitter. DruncanVeasey (2695), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Jul 9, 2007 The first beer to break my heart. Corked and caged 375ml bottle fountained mostly over the kitchen floor and worktop. Lucky floor. Just about resisted the temptation to lick it up. The 1/4 of a bottle or so remaining poured with a headless orange haze. Acetic, musty, dank, saliva-making lemon and orange juice aroma. Intensely but not acerbically sour. Deep, fleshily orange-accented fruitiness. Tinglingly sour like freshly-squeezed orange juice. Shards of mouth-watering sherbet lemon tartness. Outrageous. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 9, 2007 Bottle, 75cl corked. Hazy, orange-golden pour with a lasting, bit white head, leaving those nice lacings. The nose is quite grapefruity-sour. There’s a little barnyard-note as well, but the citrus dominates. Sour, astringent flavor, with lots of citrusy acidity, and some farm-like notes in the background. The flavor last for a good while, and finishes citrusy as well. Medium body. Even though it doesn’t have too much of that barnyardish or horse-blanket like twist I find so lovely, it is a really nice gueuze. (070526)
